Mrs B has a disabled son who lives in sheltered accommodation and for his 30th birthday she wanted a large and strong climbing frame with lots of elements to keep him occupied and stimulated. Additionally, her son required space to ‘hide out’ and something to crawl along that wasn’t too high. Space was not limited, and so building a commercial climbing frame with everything she and her son needed was without compromise.
A double tower system was our starting point. With so many sides, 8 in total (but 2 used for the bridge) there was lots of scope to add as much creative fun as possible which included a climbing wall and rock wall plus a swing set with 2 premium swings – a tyre swing and a nest swing to relax on. The bridge was upgraded from rope bridge to a fully wooden bridge with wooden sides and handrails for added safety. Below each tower we created hide-outs with three walls and a wooden decked floor – a perfect little quiet space.
A low level climbing element was created by fitting a monkey bar set close to the ground making it easy to climb along, but also a safe height to fall from should that occur. Finally we finished everything off with an upgraded slide which had additional width for an adult sized body. What a 30th birthday present!
This climbing frame system was designed to our customer’s exact requirements in terms or layout, positioning and play elements. In addition it featured a unique set of low level monkey bars, double open fronted lower tower enclosures and a high strength bridge to cope with adult use.

The younger of our two grandsons had his 8th birthday party. The tree house had a thorough test by 16 children between aged 7 and 11. It has survived with no ill effects, being agreed to be ‘cool’ and a good thing.
