This family on the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire border had a fantastic garden with bags of potential. A large, gently sloping enclosed field backing onto farm land, and a pleasant distribution of mature Birch and Sycamore trees. This space was crying out for an all-encompassing tree house, which would excite the kids for years to come. Encouraging them to spend hours in the garden.
Enter stage left, Gardenatics, with a vision and a plan to get the most use across the whole garden. Our solution was a double platform tree house connected by a whopping 8 metre suspended bridge.
The largest of the platforms holds a chunky tree house with a fantastic surprise hidden within. A neat and fun way of getting out from the house is a very cool tube slide. It has a secret entrance inside and when you need to make a quick exit, this is the ultimate descent.
This tower also boasts a spacious platform in front of the house, an impressive entrance stair and a monkey bar and swing combination. The tree house will protect against the worst of British weather, boasting a doorway, shuttered windows and beautiful cedar shingle roof. Below the platform is hidden a hammock for summer use and a very comfortable way for Dad to keep an eye on the kids!
That said, Mum and the kids expect him to do some outdoor work, as he has a mini gym to work out on when the fancy takes him.
To get to the other part of the fun (the second platform), it’s now time to navigate the 8 meter long suspended bridge. A swaying, wibbly-wobbly way across to the other side. Children with imagination turn this into a great adventure: crossing the ‘crocodile infested Zambizi’ or navigating one of Lara Croft’s more difficult villains dens!
Once safely on the other side, this platform is smaller, but boasts the greatest exit of all time (more of that later) plus a very challenging cargo net to ensure that taking the road less travelled is never going to be the easy option.
So what kind of exit is possible to make from this platform? How about a 60 metre zip wire. As you edge towards the safety gate, dare you take the ultimate challenge? Grab onto the chunky chain, slip onto the button seat, heart racing, palms slightly sweaty but hang on for dear life and then. . .
Wheeeeeeeee, glide all the way along the full length of the garden. You come to a gradual stop courtesy of a giant spring brake at the other end of the zip wire. The ride is over much quicker than you wanted it to be. Only one thing left to do, run up the garden again to repeat the whole thing again!
